What Ease Card keeps
As little as it can. No accounts, no email, no analytics services, no tracking cookies. One banner ad on the public pages (see Advertising).

Planning and printing
The planner and the card are built from what is in the web address (the computer, the needs and the settings you ticked, and the card name if you gave one). Nothing about them is stored. If you share that address, whoever opens it sees the same card.
Card Books
When you save a card, the site stores: a random 12-character book code, and for each card the computer, the setting names chosen, the card name, the print size, the dates you ticked settings done, and the note. Anyone with the link can open and change the book, so card names and notes refuse links, email addresses and long numbers. A book nobody opens for 400 days is deleted with its cards.
Cookies and your browser
The home page and the settings library set no cookies. Pages with a form that saves something set one short-lived security cookie so the form cannot be sent from another site. The "This site" text-size and contrast buttons remember your choice in your own browser (local storage); it never reaches the server.
Server records
To stop abuse, the site counts saves per connection and per network for two days, keeping only a scrambled (hashed) form of the address. The web server keeps the usual access logs for a short time. Error logs are kept 30 days.
Advertising
The home page, the planner before you choose, the settings library, pricing and How it works show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site. For now the ads are for WeldonPC's own services. The planner's answer, the card, the Helper sheet, Card Book pages, this page and the terms show no ad.
To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests. It never receives the page's own address, so the needs and settings in a planner or card link stay on this site. The only outside service any page loads is this banner; it also counts one page view per page as a daily total.
- No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
- How your IP address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your IP address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC's own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
- What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
- Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser's site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Nothing about you is sold or shared.
Payments
Payments are not switched on yet (preview). When they are, PayPal will take payment; Ease Card will store only a pass code and its dates, never card details.
